CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS: YOUR CALIFORNIA PRIVACY RIGHTS
Under the California Consumer Protection Act of 2018 (“CCPA“), California residents have certain rights around collection, use, and sharing of their personal information.
Private Health News does not sell your personal information and will not do so in the future without providing you with notice and an opportunity to opt-out of such sale as required by law.
Private Health News collects various categories of personal information when you use the Website. A detailed description of the information Private Health News collects and how we use it is provided here (Information Collection and Use).
If you are a resident of California, you have the right to request to know what personal information has been collected about you, and to access that information. You also have the right to request deletion of your personal information, though exceptions under the CCPA may allow Private Health News to retain and use certain personal information notwithstanding your deletion request. You may send a data right’s request to dataprotection@privatehealthnews.com or call (800) 399-0109. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights under the CCPA. An agent may submit a request on your behalf, but you must verify that your agent is authorized to do so.
Separate from the CCPA, California’s Shine the Light law gives California residents the right to ask companies what personal information they share with third parties for those third parties’ direct marketing purposes. We do not disclose your personal information to third parties for the purpose of directly marketing their goods or services to you unless you request such disclosure.

NEVADA RESIDENTS: YOUR NEVADA PRIVACY RIGHTS
Nevada law (SB 220) requires website operators to provide a way for Nevada consumers to opt out of the sale of certain information that the website operator may collect about them. Private Health News does not sell your personal information to third parties as defined in Nevada law, and will not do so in the future without providing you with notice and an opportunity to opt-out of such sale as required by law. If you have any questions regarding our data privacy practices or our compliance with Nevada data privacy law, please contact us through dataprotection@privatehealthnews.com or call (800) 399-0109.

VERIFICATION OF REQUESTS
All requests submitted to us will be verified to ensure that the person making the request is the individual about whom we have collected Personal Information. The method we use to verify the identity may vary based the type of Personal Information we have collected. In most cases, we will require the one requesting to provide the following information when submitting a request:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Email Address
- Physical Address
- Legal Relationship to the Subject of the Request (if requested by an Agent)
We will use this identifying information to communicate with the user making the request and receive confirmation that they submitted the request, and then match this identifying information with the Personal Information we have stored. In rare cases, we may ask for additional information to verify the request, which may include a signed declaration under penalty of perjury that the user making the request is the individual whose Personal Information is the subject of the request.
If the user making the request submits a request to delete Personal Information, we will separately confirm that the individual wants their Personal Information deleted.
We may deny a request if we cannot verify the identity of the user making the request to a reasonable degree of certainty or a reasonably high degree of certainty (depending on the type of request, the sensitivity of the Personal Information, and the risk of harm to the individual posed by a unauthorized request) or, in the case of a request to delete Personal Information, we may deny a request if we are not able to separately confirm that the individual wants their Personal Information deleted. -
AUTHORIZED AGENT
If you use an authorized agent to submit a request, we will require that you:
- provide the authorized agent written permission to act as your authorized agent; and
- verify the authorized agent’s identity directly with us.
The above authorized agent requirements do not apply if you have provided the authorized agent with legally binding power of attorney in accordance with applicable law.
We may deny a request from an agent that does not submit proof that they have been authorized by you to act on their behalf.
